i hire cars quite a lot to drive to scotland.from a well known company,but thought id try GKC as it is just down the road from me.I had driven the car about 800miles to near the north of scotland,where i was pulled over by the police and was told the car had no M.O.T. it had run out a month ago,after being questioned,by the roadside for an hour the police charged me for the offence,after a discussion on the phone with GKC the police decided that if the car got booked in for an M.O.T that i could take it there(i wish i had left it at the side of the road now)but was promised a full refund for the vehicle hire when i got back so decided to take it to the M.O.T station.when i took it there i was informed that the vehicle had 2 illegal tyres on it.i was furious i had driven this car risking my life and my wifes also being charged and wasted the rest off my holiday,i was just glad to get the car back to GKC where all they offered me was £100 good will gesture,take it or leave it was the exact words,so anyway i thought i better warn people if you do hire a vehicle from this company ,i would definately advise you to check all the documents are up to date and check the vehice is road worthy to take away
