Some of Nicholls Tyreman's agents don't take responsibility for their words and actions, and they blatantly lie into your face. The service they deliver is is horrible to say the least. I viewed one of their 3 bedroom properties which, according to the viewer who showed me around, was available for sharing. In the office, they told me they would need to contact the landlord first, because they were not sure (!) if he was okay with sharers. Though they promised they would get back to me, they never did. It was only a week later that I could elicit a straightforward answer from them. It turned out that no sharers were allowed, but again I expressed my interest in the property even if only the two of us would be able to move in. We had to bite the bullet at some point, because there was hardly any properties for sharers. They told me they'd get back to me the day after to let me know, because someone booked a view for that evening. It was 5 minutes before closing time. I know from experience that it's impossible to book a view at that time. I could never book a view that late. Needless to say, they didn't call me the day after. I had to chase them again, and they were very sorry but the deposit had already been taken. Fantastic. Later on, I checked their website and the property I was interested in was still enlisted. No indication whatsoever that it's no longer available. It's been there for a day now. It's outrageous. I haven't done anything bad for them to behave like that. I spoke to some people since then, and it seems that some of their lettings negotiators have a bad reputation. One of my colleagues had rented one of their properties not so long ago and he said they were horrible and useless. According to him, the lettings negotiator I've been chasing the whole time and who had been lying to me so blatantly, is one of their worst members of staff. I wouldn't believe it if it didn't happen to me. I'm sure some people would say they're good or they are okay, but I think it also depends on which member of staff is dealing with you. My experience is a good example to show how bad they can be. I had no problems with other agencies, and I can't imagine one which is worse.
