We commissioned David Behan of Diamond roofing to repair a leaking garage roof. 4 months later and £2,500 lighter we now have a garage roof which leaks more heavily than previously with water now seeping through the roof and affecting the electrics in our garage. This is due to the cheap materials used and very poor workmanship. David Behan is the most unreliable workman we have ever dealt with and it became rapidly clear to us that he was not going to rectify the problems despite repeated promises and so ultimately we had to employ the services of another roofing company who have told us the whole roof will have to be stripped and started again. We have lost a lot of money and endured months of frustration. I strongly urge anyone considering employing this individual to think twice and avoid him like the plague.

Fake Diamond
I employed this 'company' to re-roof my house. I found them through 'Rated People' when I needed a leaky roof repaired. Diamond Roofing carried out this repair satisfactorily. When the work was completed, the 'Director' (his title), Mr David Behan, pointed out that my roof was in poor condition generally. I knew this to be true and for some time, I had been considering having major repairs carried out. Because the work already done had been good, and because David Behan seemed sincere, presenting himself and his workers as knowledgeable and competent, I asked him to give me an estimate and a quote. I asked Diamond Roofing to go ahead with the job. The work commenced in February this year and seemed to be progressing well though very slowly. I put this down to the very poor poor conditions and very heavy rain. My wife and I went on holiday in March. Before we left Mr Behan assured us that the work would be completed before we returned. By this time, Behan had won our trust, we had been paying him in stages as the work was completed and what they had been doing LOOKED, to the untrained eye, to be good. When we returned from holiday, the work was finished except for repairs to the guttering which, according to a message from Behan, would be done in a few days. This work was never carried out despite numerous phone conversations, emails and assurances. Eventually, Behan stopped all communication with us and I had to call in another firm to repair the guttering and it is because of this that we found out what a disaster Diamond Roofing had perpetrated on us. The tiling job looked good - to me- BUT - and these are only a few botched jobs - the measurements for the WHOLE JOB had been wrong, most tiles were wrongly positioned, many tiles had not even been nailed down. Dormer 'valleys' were the wrong size and improperly fitted, tiles had been fitted without 'overhang' for proper run off, some tiles were broken the roof was leaking in three different places. And it goes on. The verdict was, 'whoever carried out this job knew absolutely nothing about roofing. This is criminal' The second company I employed, thankfully, were excellent and kept my costs to a minimum, out of a combination of sympathy and wounded pride in their Trade, I think. They were astonished and offended by the abysmal workmanship the uncovered and which they saw as a slur on their Trade. They re-used much of the existing materials. Behan and his company have ignored all communication and have 'disappeared'. Be warned stay well away from this Falkirk company and watch out for the name of David or Davy Behan; it may resurface with a new company. Peter Ayre (Shotts North Lanarkshire)
