I have been a Natwest customer for about 55 years , the branch in Okehampton closed down , now my nearest branch is Tavistock or Crediton, so , no chance in a face to face talk . just to mention I am 82 years old , yes, I have a computer, but know absolutately nothing about them , and forever having to get my kids to fix it when I lose everything, they blame me for using " cookies ", but if I don`t use them, I can`t see what I want to, even the local weather forecast, so I would be hopeless with Banking on line, and passwords are another thing I can never remember , I tried phoning Natwest today , because I am going to Portugal on holiday, and wanted to know if I could use my card over there , and if I could , would I be charged, I phoned a couple of times because they kept asking me for a 10 digit number, but I couldn`t find one, even on my last statement that come in just a couple of days ago. so I tole the person on the phone , I could give them my account number, and bank sort code , I gave them that plus my name and date of birth , but was struggling to get the information I wanted , and was getting very frustrated , eventually I was told I could use my card but would be charged , i thought this very unfair , as I this account is not used all that often , in fact, I only use it to buy for my wife , like birthday and Christmas presents, , and I bought her a wheel chair because she is disabled , but I do that, rather than taking money from our joint account ,because I feel if I took it from the joint account ,we use for houskeeping, in wouldn`t be from me , what is in there is going to have to bury me, because we don`t have insurance , when we did it kept going up even though we never claimed for anything , so when I was told I would be charged for lifting some of " My Own " money even though it would be abroad , and the fact that the NatWest don`t give me any interest in the money I have with them, I thought it was a bit much, NatWest use the money from people like me to make their proffits, but it seems ,are " Not " willing to give anything back ,so I told the person on the phone , when I get back from this holiday , I will be considdering leaving the NatWest , Oh and the person I was talking to said I could also use my mobile phone for banking, Like I say, I am 82, I do not own a mobile phone , and have no intention of getting one , and joining the Mobile Phone Zombies walking our streets.
