My thoughts are with the unfortunate clients that have had work carried out by I M Birch.
The quality of their workmanship is pretty appalling.

Good luck to the previous reviewer on the legal action. I had the misfortune to encounter these two cowboys myself. It has cost many thousands to put these two cowboys work right. Very shoddy workmanship, many errors made. No surprise they struggle to get clients to pay.

We were really let down by IM Birch because during our knock through extension we raised some issues that were ignored and rubbished by Ian. Ian quoted and invoiced us for work and materials he neither did nor supply. For example, there was no insulation under the floor in the kitchen that we had been quoted and invoiced for. We spoke to Ian about this, the fact that plaster had cracked and crumbled in places and that the insulation in the ceiling had not been laid correctly resulting in a cold bridge. Ian has shown no remorse for what he has done to us and the way he has left us and was only concerned about getting his money. Both Ian and his son on separate occasions stated that they had trouble getting money from customers which made us suspicious. In our opinion and from what we have seen we can see why.
18 months on after numerous letters we have contacted the FMB to which Ian cancelled his membership to avoid mediation. This meant that the FMB was unable to do anything for us as he was no longer a member. Then I M Birch Building contractors LTD have re-joined the FMB approx. a month later, we feel this was to avoid dealing with this. We are now having to take further action through the court system.
