Unless you want to pay through the nose at a main dealer I have no hesitation in recommending Royston Autocare. A year ago they were happy to fit a new headlamp unit to our Mk 2 Clio even though I bought it elsewhere (German, Swedish & French. It turned out to be the wrong unit.) More recently, the hatchback door would not stay locked. We noticed this with a "door open" warning light as we drove out of where the Clio had just been serviced and MOT'd (not at Royston Autocare). In the time that I strolled to a nearby Tesco Costa Coffee outlet and back, Royston Autocare had cleaned out the lock and release button, found no fault in the electricals and the Clio was ready to go home. Excellent! And they charged me a lot less than a tank of diesel. They could have conned me into needing new parts (main dealers would) but they did not. That says a lot. From now on my Golf will be going there for TLC. 23-06-16
