Took my car in for a vehicle check, the website says they are BMW experts etc etc. I knew I had a squeaking brake and needed a new bulb in the rear reversing light and told them about this before it went in. He told me the car should be done early afternoon.

I had to chase at around 2pm and it was clear they hadn't even looked at the car at this point, so I pressured them and was told to come in at 3pm. I did this and the car was on the ramp when I got there, he showed me that the bulb had fused a wire and this needed replacing too, they did that and had adjusted my handbrake too. Have you fixed the brake squeak? Of course not, he then charged me £30 to grease the front brakes and took the car for a test drive, it was still squeaking because I could hear it when he drove it back in. Now he claimed it was coming from the back brakes and that the pads needed changing. I was quite annoyed by this point because he had charged £30 to grease the brakes (which wasn't the problem) £45 for the vehicle check, £30 for the fused wire and bulb and £20 to adjust the handbrake. He said he could change the brake pads now if I waited, fortunately I said no because I was in a rush. I took the car to a garage I knew to be more trustworthy today and they told me there was nothing wrong with any of the brakes and it was the front brake that was squeaking, which sometimes happens when the pads are new are charged me nothing. The rear pads are only half way worn down and DO NOT NEED replacing.

To top it all, I wanted to pay by card but there was a sign saying the card machine is broken. I asked for an invoice and was told that this means he would have to charge VAT on top as well! Absolute con artists to the customers and to the tax man. It wouldn't surprise me if there was nothing wrong with the wire to my bulb and they had fused it to increase costs, obviously I can't prove that.

I suggest avoiding at all costs. They promise things quite happily on the phone and then don't deliver.
