One of the Molly Maid (Guildford) cleaners ruined the surface of our beautiful wood floor. I work from home and noticed the damage after the cleaners left. It could not have been anyone but them, but the cleaner in question (or the management on her behalf, I'm not sure which) blatantly denied having caused the damage. The scratches were very deep and could not have been caused without the cleaner realising it - that was the opinion of the French polisher that Molly Maid sent around to assess the damage. We subsequently got a letter from Molly Maid, in which the manager twisted things that were discussed by me and the French polisher in order to shake off any responsibility. The manager also lied in the letter regarding the equipment that the cleaners used. At the start of our arrangement I had expressed concerns about using a hoover on the wooden floor surface in our lounge. The cleaners had been ignoring the instruction to sweep it rather than hovering it - they definitely used the hoover on the day in question. Overall, I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth and since then I have been using private cleaners, based on a recommendation from a friend.
