Hiring a track day bike can be a bit like hiring a car abroad. You are putting up a large (cash) deposit and renting a vehicle in an unfamiliar environment.

In both situations it is a good idea to check the vehicle very thoroughly for any pre-existing damage on the vehicle's bodywork, particularly any cracks or scuffs on the fairing, maybe even taking photos.

You don't want to be held financially responsible for any pre-existing damage should you have any mishaps on your track day.

Similar to being abroad, it is very difficult to negotiate over the costs of repair. You in a disadvantaged position of surprise, embarrassment and ignorance and have already handed over all your money.
