The owner appears to have no interest at all in the welfare of his residents. This home's fees are net of FNC and upon death he charges one calendar month's exit fees!!
The food is average lacking in nutrition and frequently arrived lukewarm. Cleanliness was not very good, the general equipment used was shabby, torn/see through sheets, frayed bibs and incontinence protectors that had seen better days. My relative's room was in poor state of décor, peeling paint on the walls and windows, holes in the wall from pictures that had not been made good and furniture fit for the tip. The turnover of staff was very high, in just under a year about 14 staff either left or were transferred to one of his other homes and, most important, there were several reports of abuse by a single female member of staff. I was told, too late, that my relative was abused. I am led to believe that the manager at the time was made aware but was unable or chose to do nothing because the owner is a bully..
On a positive, most of the staff were caring but left because of bad pay and poor working conditions and also I understand that the owner was not paying their wages in full.
At present the home is under review by CQC.
My relative is no longer there but I wish to remain anonymous.
