I regularly shopped at G Debman Family Butchers because they are local and one of the few places to sell decent quality fresh produce at a reasonable price. However, on the afternoon of Thursday July 16th 2020, while shopping in this butchers, I overheard an employee of this establishment using racially abusive language and admitting to having discriminated against a customer earlier that day on the basis of race. I filed a complaint with Suffolk County Constabulary and the incident has been logged. This type of behaviour can only occur in places where it is considered acceptable by the business owners - who are ultimately responsible for their employees actions. That the owner is a former councillor for IBC is particularly worrying. I won't be shopping there again because I'd rather buy supermarket quality produce than support anyone business that doesn't publicly condemn and actively seek to eradicate the behaviour of the employee at this butchers. 25-08-20
